A seriously broken leg

Sports Medicine is all about sports injuries. Check this one out (if you can cope) and think about how you would treat the injury and plan rehabilitation for return to play.

or can we just say well there a 1500m runner so they mostly use there legs so the training will more be focused on the lower body and CV endurance?

  2. Hi Dom,. I think I've missed you with this. I've been really struggling with a log-in issue. Nevertheless, the 1500m is a complex event. You should focus on the energy systems and on leg muscle speed and endurance. Core strength is obviously important for a good running posture too. The 1500m lasts about 4 mins at high intensity. Aerobic system contributes about 50% ATP, Alactacid and LA contribute about 25% each. Training has to be near the Anaerobic threshhold when developing endurance, because the runner has to be able to tolerate high LA levels in the muscles. One of the best training websites is brianmac.co.uk I'll get it in the links for you. Cheers, Mr L
